Indications for liver detox diet


Recent popular and commercial diets, dietary patterns and culture pressure poses a threat to health. Liver is an important organ which helps in breakdown of chemicals and digestion. There are several ways to identify whether you need a liver detox diet. In short, viral hepatitis, alcohol consumption, adverse reactions to drugs, toxic chemicals and incorrect diet like fast food are the four major indications that you need to use detox diet.

Firstly, those using frozen and canned food as a part of regular diet will soon need detox diet. The preservatives, hormones, chemicals and pesticide residues added to food for the faster production & growth, longer stay and business is the major cause why our liver gets affected. This is common with both vegetables and meat.

Secondly, people who are addicted to alcohol will need detox diet. Excessive alcohol consumption damages the liver cells and impairs it's function. The toxin levels of alcohol itself can be eliminated by detox diet. As liver is a natural detoxifier when it gets damaged we need to detoxify the liver on regular basis with detox diet.

Thirdly, in case of viral hepatitis the liver becomes either fatty or completely dysfunctional. In such cases the liver filter is unable to remove organisms and toxins which comes for detoxification and metabolism. They need a detox diet to perform the function of liver filter.

Fourthly, People using medicines regularly for chronic pain or hypertension or diabetes will need detox diets. All the medicines taken will go to liver for absorption, digestion and storage but liver incourse of time gets damaged and the toxins gets collected. This is the major side effect of many drugs.

Fifthly, people who try to suicide through poisoning will need detox diet to revive them after emergency treatment. This is quite rare but seems to help.

Sixthly, obese people need a liver detox diet. It is believed that there is weight gain when there is liver problem and when the weight gain is not related to carbohydrate intake it is confirmed and put on liver detox diet.

Detox diets have become common and fashion these days. People take them as vitamin supplements. Though they are useful it should be taken with doctor's order. Your doctor will be the one who will decide whether you need a detox diet or not after doing certain tests. There are a wide variety of detox diets. The function of liver is easily and pleasantly achieved by adopting a daily eating pattern that maintains the liver filter in a healthy clean state.
